But can Disk Drill recover deleted/lost APFS partition? In this post, we decided to run some tests to see if it is true.
Can Disk Drill recover deleted/lost APFS partition?
No, it can't. The answer is gotten from the results of several tests. The following are the real test we did before. Let's have a look.
Test run for Disk Drill
For our test, we added a new volume named "Workspace" on our Apple SSD SM0128G Media, which already had three volumes (Bootcamp, macOS and Daily) on it. We stored 7 files of the most used file types – documents, music, videos and archives. Then we deleted the APFS volume and installed Disk Drill Basic.
Launch Disk Drill, we can see our Apple SSD SM0128G and the other three volumes in the list, but can't find the deleted volume. If the deleted volume can't be listed, how can we recover it? So we come to the conclusion that we are unable to recover deleted/lost partition with Disk Drill.
