Q: While opening an NTFS disk with iBoysoft NTFS for Mac, I got the error message "System Extension Blocked". How to fix?

A: Please follow the steps here:

  1. Step 1: Click Open Security & Privacy
  2. Step 2: Click on the lock icon at the bottom. You will be asked to enter the password if there is.
  3. Step 3: You may see this: System software from developer "Chengdu Aibo Tech Co., Ltd." was blocked from loading, click Allow beside it.
  4. Step 4: Then, finish the installation process.

Q: System extension blocked, there is No allow button in security and privacy preferences.

A: It is caused by there is no space to install the driver of iBoysoft for Mac, please open /Library/Extensions/ folder, manually delete these drivers that are not in use, then reinstall iBoysoft NTFS for Mac and check if allow button appears.

Q: I installed iBoysoft NTFS for Mac on my Mac running macOS Monterey. I connected my external disks to my Mac, however, none of them was detected by this software. How to fix?

Q: Why some of my files on an NTFS volume are greyed out?

A: These files cannot be adapted for macOS. You need to install a standalone NTFS driver to be able to access and manage these files.

Q: My NTFS drives are slow to open and use, what to do?

A: Your NTFS drives might have some minor software errors, you need to repair the disk by following the steps:

  1. Step 1: Click iBoysoft NTFS for Mac icon from the menu bar.
  2. Step 2: Click Open iBoysoft NTFS for Mac from the drop-down menu.
  3. Step 3: Select the NTFS disk you want to repair and click First Aid from the right panel.
  4. Step 4: Click on Repair disk.

Q: I installed iBoysoft NTFS for Mac, but still, I can't save files on to my NTFS disk. In some instances, I got error messages while writing to the disk.

A: The file system of the NTFS disk is probably corrupted. You can verify and repair the disk with iBoysoft NTFS for Mac.

  1. Step 1: Click iBoysoft NTFS for Mac icon from the menu bar.
  2. Step 2: Click Open iBoysoft NTFS for Mac from the drop-down menu.
  3. Step 3: Select the NTFS disk you want to repair and click First Aid from the right panel.
  4. Step 4: Click on Repair disk.
  5. Step 6: When it finishes disk checking, please open the NTFS disk and try again. You are probably able to save and write files to it now.

Note: In the event that you still cannot write to the NTFS disk after checking, you're suggested to insert it to a Windows computer and then repair with CHKDSK command.

  1. Step 1: Go to the Start menu, type in cmd in the search bar, and press Enter.
  2. Step 2: Right click cmd.exe and choose Run as administrator.
  3. Step 3: Run the following command:
    chkdsk volume: /f
  4. Please replace "volume" with the drive letter of your NTFS disk. For example, if the drive letter is "G", then you need to type in chkdsk G: /f.

Q: What to do if I still can't open an NTFS disk after installing iBoysoft NTFS for Mac?

A: Please quit iBoysoft NTFS for Mac at first. Then, go to Disk Utility and check if this NTFS disk is detected (showing in the left sidebar) and can be mounted. If yes, please follow the steps as below:

  1. Step 1: Open Finder.
  2. Step 2: Click Go from the top menu bar and select Go to Folder....
  3. Step 3: Copy and paste the two locations to the search bar one-by-one:
  4. ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/
  5. /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/
  6. Step 4: Search these folders. If there are .crash files named as ntfs-mounter, please send them to [email protected] for further analyzing.
  7. Step 5: If there's no .crash file, it indicates that the file system of the disk might be corrupted. Please follow the steps here to check disk errors.
