How to fix external hard drive disk mount error?

Hello. After installing Catalina from the Sierra operating system onto my desktop iMac, noticing issues with all Lacie Porsche External Hard drives - Format: Mac os Extended (Journaled), they do mount and when opened everything works fine. However, in Disk Utility when checking First Aid, I am getting the error: First Aid failing - Unable to unmount volume for repair: (-69673). They do eject okay and have no corruption after checking them on my MacBook Air with the High Sierra operating system. So, it's obvious Catalina is the problem. Gotta be a better remedy besides returning to Sierra! Help most appreciative...
