How to fix the 'There's corruption that needs to be repaired' error?

I have run the fsck command a lot, and the recover screen tells me to check what's wrong with it, and then the Disk Utility tells me to repair from recovery mode. Please help, I really need to install Windows on my computer. I got to the Windows screen and installation, but while it was installed, I received something saying that the information was corrupted. It shows this: File system check exit code is 8. (restoring original state) File system verify or repair failed. : (-69845)

You mentioned that you receive two error messages "File system exit code is 8" and "File system verify or repair failed.:(-69845)" These two error messages indicate that your drive or volume's file system is likely corrupted so First Aid is failed to repair the drive.

File system exit code is 8 and File system verify or repair failed.:(69845) may be caused by a corrupted file system on the drive. It can happen on the internal or external hard drive, USB flash drive, or SD card on a Mac running any version of macOS.

If they appear on your external hard drive, you can take the following three simple methods to fix these two problems:

  • Plugging the drive into another computer to check whether it mounts correctly, then replug it on Mac to run First Aid again.
  • Use another USB cable
  • Unplug the drive and replug it into a different port

If the above ways are not working, you can use the below ways and rerun First Aid to check if the error has been fixed.

After that, check whether your disk can be used normally and whether the two errors have been fixed.

In addition, you said you have also received the "There's corruption that needs to be repaired." error message, which may appear when Mac users attempt to check their startup disk using First Aid. And it also appears when a MacBook won't turn on while a loading bar is frozen on the screen.

Here are three ways for you to fix 'There's corruption that needs to be repaired.':

Before you fix the above three errors, don't forget to back up your important data. If you have lost any data on your corrupted external hard drive, you can use iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac to give you help.
