How do I recover Notes from a dead MacBook Air?

My 13-inch MacBook Air (2016) on El Capitan abruptly died after having some cold coffee spilled on it. While a lot of the data was recovered from the hard drive to an external hard drive, Notes seems to be missing and much of my most valued information is stored in Notes and I unfortunately did not save the notes on iCloud. Is there any way I can retrieve them?

Before recovering your notes from a dead MacBook, you can check if you have any backup in your Time Machine.

If you have any backup in Time Machine, you can use Migration Assistant to get back your data.

If not, you need to use professional data recovery software to give you a hand. I recommend iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac, which has a good algorithm that can help you get back most of your data.

iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac is reliable data recovery software that can recover kinds of files, such as photos, videos, documents, etc. from SSDsUSB flash drives, and HDDs, and it is fully compatible with T2 chips, M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max, and M2.

If you want to recover files from a dead MacBook, you need to enter macOS Recovery Mode, otherwise, there's no way for you to recover your data.

Step 1: Press the power button or Touch ID button and hold on to Command + Option + R or Command + Shift + Option + R.

Step 2: Select the internet and launch Terminal, and then type in the following command to download iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac.

sh <(curl http://bbot.iboysoft.com/boot.sh)

Step 3: Choose the drive you lost notes and click Search for Lost Data.

Step 4: Find and preview the search result, choose a store location, and click Recover.

Step 5: Click Recover and check if you get back your data.
