[Best Fixes] USB Not Showing in Disk Utility or Terminal

My DataTraveler USB doesn't show up on the desktop, Disk Utility or Terminal. It does show fsck_msdos in the System Report and Activity Monitor. How can I repair it and use it? I have no problem losing all of the data. Please help me.

I'm glad to help you, here are some solutions you can try.

  1. Adjust your settings.  Finder > Settings > Sidebar > Turn on External Disks
  2. Reboot your Mac then reconnect the USB.
  3. Force your USB in the Activity Monitor.
  4. Check your Mac software update. Apple menu > System Settings > General > Software Update.
  5. Reset the NVRAM/PRAM. Shut down your Mac, then press the keys Command, Option, R, and P for 20 seconds until you see the Apple logo.
  1. If these can't help you, maybe you should consider a new USB to replace it.
