How to Resolve 'OS X can't repair the disk'?

I have been using this External Hard Drive to save files for a long time. Suddenly I can't save files there and/ or move files from my desktop to my Drive. I have a Macbook Air and I tested a different External Hard Drive which is the exact same make, and the other one works. I can't repair it through Utility Disk, so not sure how to fix this problem. I need access to these files and to save files and folders to this Drive to save space on my Mac. HELP!

When you try to repair your disk on Mac using Disk Utility, if First Aid fails, you may receive an error message telling you that OS X/macOS can't repair the disk. The error only appears when the disk issue or damage is beyond the repair ability of Disk Utility First Aid, such as file system corruption, dead hard drive, etc.

Here are three simple methods for you to fix OS X/macOS can't repair the disk:

Before you format your external hard drive, you can recover your files from corrupted external hard drives and then back up them. iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac is a reliable assistant for you to recover your data, which can recover hundreds of types of files, like photos, documents, videos, audio files, etc., from external hard drives, USB flash drives, SD cards, HDDs, and SSDs. Here's how:

  1. Download, install, and launch iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac.
  2. Choose your external hard drive and click Seach for Lost Data.
  3. Preview the search result and click Recover to store them in a different location.
