How To Password-Protect USB pen drive for both PC and Mac?

I want to encrypt an ex-FAT formatted USB pen drive, so that a password is required to access it when it is inserted into a machine. It is vital that Ill be able to access the pen drive on both Windows and Mac operating systems. I have Windows 10 Home (not Pro) , so I dont have access to BitLocker. I dont need government-grade encryption or anything like that. I wont have highly sensitive material on the drive. Its just stuff Id rather people dont have access to, if for example I misplace my pen drive somewhere. Is there a free (or cheap) way to do this?

Hi there, provided that you have no built-in BitLocker on Windows, BitLocker encryption to the USB pen drive doesn't work for you here. You're recommended to utilize a third-party toolkit on both Mac and PC to password-protect the USB pen drive. Veracrypt is a wonderful option in allowing you to create a password to defend the USB drive and you can unlock it seamlessly as long as you install it both on your Mac and Windows.

Go to the Veracrypt website and download this toolset, then password-protect your USB drive immediately! Take care~
