Files Keep Disappearing on Mac, How to Fix?

Hi, I just moved to a 2014 Macbook Pro and I upgraded the hard drive to a solid state. After updating to Catalina, I have been having problems with my files. When I close the lid after using it and open it back up later, I click on a file or document and it says it cannot be found. I restart my computer and they're accessible now. My computer also restarts after I close the lid of the computer after awhile too. I don't know if it's a hard drive problem or an OS problem. Please help! Thank you!
