Why Does An External SSD Not Show Up On iPhone 14 Pro?

Hey there, I'am trying to download video from my iPhone 14 Pro to a Crucial X6 4TB portable SSD external hard drive. I follow instructions offered by YouTube but get a trouble that the SSD doesn't show up on my iPhone 14 Pro at all! I wonder if it is the instruction's faulty or if there is any trouble occuring? Can anyone give a hand? Thanks a lot! The instruction goes like this: 1) Attached a "Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter" to my iPhone. 2) Then plugged a charger into the lightning port on the adapter. 3) Then I attached the external drive via the USB port to the adapter. 4) I then opened the "Files" app on my iPhone where I find the SSD didn't show up on my iPhone.

Hi there, you can connect your SSD to a computer to see if it shows up there. If doesn't, then your SSD is problematic, you should contact the manufacturer for an answer. If it shows up on your computer, then go to Disk Utility to see what it is formatted. If it is formatted to non-Apple file system, like Mac OS (Journaled) and APFS, you should format it to Apple file system first.
