Can I recover the overwritten Mac desktop folder?

Hi everyone! My desktop folder was unintentionally replaced with an empty folder that was meant to be thrown out. Many of the files I required for work were in the deleted folder. Tell me whether restoration is still possible and the process involved, please. Thanks.

Unluckily, once the folder on your Mac desktop is overwritten, you can't recover it back even if using professional third-party data recovery software or sending it to local repair.

Have you backed up your Mac with Time Machine or other methods such as iCloud Drive, external hard drive, etc.,  before the operation? If your answer is YES, you may try to restore it to your Mac again. If there is no backup, it is impossible to recover overwritten data on your Mac.
