How to Right-click to Create A New File On Mac?

Hello! So on Windows if I want to create a new file I just right-click and select new> text file for example. However my Mac OS X, you can only create a new folder. How do I enable the option to create a new text file from the menu system?

There is no equivalent in macOS and the only way to help you right-click to create a new file on Mac is to use third-party software. iBoysoft MagicMenu is what I recommend.

iBoysoft MagicMenu is a fully customizable menu on Mac, which can make full use of the right-click menu on Mac. You can add and customize new file creation, file transfer, quick access, app uninstalling, duplicate file finder, and more to your right-click context menu. It supports macOS and Mac OS X and Apple Silicon.

With iBoysoft MagicMenu, it allows you to generate various types of files, including txt, pdf, doc, docx, etc., and any template file with pre-edited content. Moreover, you can manually add and create any wanted file types that are not listed in this right-click utility.

Using just a few clicks and you can create a new file on your Mac. Here's how:

Step 1: Free download, install, and activate iBoysoft MagicMenu.

Step 2: Tick the box under Main Menu or Sub Menu to show the new file formats in the right-click main menu or sub-menu.

Step 3: Right-click on your desktop, select New File, and choose a document in the specific format that you want.
