Microsoft only developed and released BitLocker for Windows version, so macOS cannot open BitLocker encrypted drive. If you want to access BitLocker encrypted drive, you need to use third-party software for help.

By default, BitLocker encrypted drive will not be recognized on macOS and you will receive an error to say your drive is unreadable. iBoysoft Bitlocker for Mac can recognize BitLocker-encrypted drives and mount them as any Mac-friendly physical drives. It provides full features to help you use your BitLocker encrypted drives without any limitations.

In addition, it's fully compatible with the latest macOS version-macOS Sonoma (14), and all Apple Silicon chips. Follow the below steps to open your BitLocker encrypted drive on your Mac.

  1. Free download and install iBoysoft Bitlocker for Mac.
  2. Connect your BitLocker encrypted drive to your Mac.
  3. Open iBoysoft BitLocker for Mac's home window to unlock it and read-write the BitLocker disk.

If your Mac is M1 & M2 based, you will be asked to enable System Extensions and grant the software Full Disk Access if it is required.

After that, your BitLocker encrypted drive will be mounted in read-write mode, then you can read and write the BitLocker encrypted drive on your Mac.
