How to move Finder files without drag-drop and how to merge folders?

How do you move something in Finder without having to drag and drop it, similar to cut and paste. Also is there a way to merge folders instead of overwriting one with the other (found that one out the hard way)?

Question 2: How to merge folders on Mac?

Situation 1: Two folders have the same name but different content.

Step 1. Select one folder and hold on to the Option key.

Step 2. Drag-drop it to the location where the other folder is. Release the Option key when you see a pop-up dialog.

Step 3. In the dialog, click on Merge.

Situation 1: Two folders have both different names and content.

Step 1. Open one folder and click Command + A to select all files.

Step 2. Drag-drop or copy-paste the selected files to another folder. If you have items with the same name, you'll be asked to Keep Both, Stop, or Replace one copy of them.

Step 3. Once the files are successfully transferred from one folder to another, you can delete the first folder. In this case, you can merge the content from two folders to organize files on Mac.
