How To Fix macOS Can't Repair The Disk On Mac?

So I upgraded to Catalina when it first came out, but last week had an issue where the external HD I use (I have little to no memory on my MBP itself) decided to become unrepairable. So after a week of online backing-up, I wiped and reformatted the HD as an AFPS (again). All was fine until I decided to test by ejecting the drive, and re-mounting it . Then the same thing happened again and I got a message saying 'MacOS Can't Repair The Disk'. Any thoughts/help? Thanks KM Using a 2017 MBP 13" 128GB & WD Elements Portable 1TB HD

When you get the message that macOS can't repair this disk, you can open or copy files on your HD, but you can't make changes to files on this disk. In such a case, you should back up the disk and reformat it ASAP.

You can either launch Time Machine to make a full backup of your device or you can use iBoysoft Data Recovery Software to scan for your inaccessible data without a hitch.

With files and data on hand, you can run First Aid to repair this disk one more time. If this method fails to repair your HD, boot into Single User Mode to complete this repairing task.
