I have a number of apps that I need to uninstall on a Mac I recently received. I must manually go file-hunting and remove any support files that the application leaves behind because simply dragging it to the bin does not remove all of the files it is attached to. Is this the only method for safely removing applications? Or is there any other method recommended?
There are multiple ways you can choose to uninstall apps on Mac:
- Move them from the Applications to Trash
- Delete them from the Launchpad
- Use the app’s built-in uninstaller
- Use a third-party app uninstaller for Mac
If you choose one of the first three methods to uninstall the app from the Mac, you still need to take extra effects to remove the leftovers of the uninstalled app on Mac. However, it is recommended to use a third-party uninstaller such as CleanMyApp, which can directly remove the leftover files while uninstalling the apps.
To remove multiple apps and the leftovers from your Mac, you’d better pick up a third-party app uninstaller that can automatically search and delete the related files of the uninstalled app, otherwise, it could be extremely time-consuming to manually locate those files and delete them.
