Send a File from a Folder to Mac Desktop without Dragging, Is It Possible?

Hi there, of course I know that I can drag a file from a folder to the Mac desktop but, you guys know, I prefer to click the Send to Desktop button rather than select-and-drag it to my desktop, because dragging an item to desktop with Trackpad is much effort-wasting for me. So if any of you guys know how to send a file from a folder to desktop, either third-party software or any trick is OK, please tell me. Thanks sincerely!

Of course you can send a file from a folder window to the Mac desktop as long as you run iBoysoft MagicMenu on your Mac computer. It allows you to send a file to the Mac Desktop, Downloads, Documents, Movies, Pictures, Music, Home folder, Applications, and other file paths that you added before.

Here is how to run iBoysoft MagicMenu on your Mac to send files from a folder to the Mac desktop with ease:

  1. Install iBoysoft MagicMenu on your Mac computer and launch it.
  2. Open a folder and control-click a file you want to send to the Mac desktop.
  3. Select Send To from the dropdown menu, then choose the destination where you want to place the file. then you’re all set.

You can also click the Select Path to choose other file directory as you wish!

Dragging is easy to operate, I have no idea why you have no liking for this way. But if you insist, I guess you can try to control-click the file and select Copy from the menu, then go to the destination you want to place this file, right-click on any blank space to select Paste.

Alternatively, select the targeted file, press the Command + C keys together, then go to the destination folder, and press the Command + V keys. Consequently, the file will be copied to the new folder, and the original file won’t disappear. Good luck~
