Why there’s no macOS Sequoia installer in Recovery Mode? I want to upgrade my MacBook Pro to macOS Sequoia and know that I can do this in Recovery Mode. However, when I am in macOS Recovery, I see the Reinstall macOS Catalina button rather than Sequoia. How can I update my Mac to macOS Sequoia?
macOS Sequoia is available to the public now. If you find no macOS Sequoia in Recovery Mode but an earlier version like Catalina, you probably use the Option - Shift - Command - R key combination. These shortcuts help reinstall the macOS version that came with your Mac or the still available closest version.
If that’s not the case, it means that your Mac is not compatible with macOS Sequoia. Here’s the list of Macs that support macOS Sequoia:
MacBook Air (2020 and later)
MacBook Pro (2018 and later)
Mac mini (2018 and later)
iMac (2019 and later)
iMac Pro (2017)
Mac Pro (2019 and later)
Mac Studio (2022 and later)
If your Mac is not in the above list, you can follow this guide to upgrade to macOS Sequoia: How to install macOS Sequoia on an unsupported Mac.
Perhaps, you don’t see Reinstall macOS Sequoia and all other utilities, you probably press the Command + R keys to boot your Mac from the built-in macOS Recovery System and the built-in recovery partition is just corrupted.
Under this circumstance, you can press Option Command R to boot your Intel-based MacBook Pro into the Recovery Mode over the Internet. Then, you can see the latest version of macOS - macOS Sequoia and upgrade your Mac to it.
Apart from reinstalling macOS Sequoia from Recovery Mode, there are two easier ways to upgrade your Mac to macOS 15.0.1.

I always fail to reinstall macOS Sequoia from Recovery Mode. It always alerts me of download failure. Can anyone tell me what I can do?
You can clean up your Mac before reinstalling macOS Sequoia. Enough free space makes macOS installation smoother. You can either use iBoysoft Bitlocker for Mac to quickly clean up your Mac or manually tidy up your Mac but with time wasted.
If your Mac doesn’t have the necessary files or you’ve backed up it, you can also cleanly install macOS Sequoia on your Mac. That is to erase your Mac and then reinstall macOS Sequoia.
