I sold my Windows computer and bought a Mac,
but I found that my external drive couldn’t be recognized.
It was encrypted by BitLocker on the originial computer,
and I forgot to decrypt it before taking it out.
Can I decrypt it on my Mac?
(1) Move files via a Windows PC if you can find. Then you can unlock the BitLocker drive on it.
(2) Install Windows 10 on Mac with Boot Camp Assistant.
(3) Run Windows 11 on Mac.
macOS doesn’t natively support BitLocker, so you’ll need a third-party tool such as the popular option iBoysoft BitLocker for Mac, which can read and write your drive seamlessly.
- Download, install, and open it.
- Insert the BitLocker-encrypted drive.
- On the main window, unlock it and read-write the drive.
