Hi, guys. I recently bought a new SD card online for my dashcam. I wanted to transfer the data from the dashcam, so I connected it to my M1 MacBook Air, but I received the error message “The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer.” Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?
Hi, have you tried using Disk Utility to fix it? Open Disk Utility and check if the SD card is listed on the left side. If it appears but cannot be mounted, try right-clicking the SD card and selecting Mount. If the card cannot be mounted or Disk Utility shows a file system error, you can try formatting the SD card (note: formatting will erase all data on the card).

If you have a backup stored elsewhere, you can connect the backup disk to read the data. If not, you can use iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac to restore your unreadable SD card data. In a few simple steps, you can get your SD card data back.
- Download iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac.
- Connect your unreadable SD card, and select it from iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac window and click the Search for Lost Data button to start scanning.
- Waiting for the scanning to finish.
- Preview the files you want to recover and click Recover button to recover them.
