Help! Screen Time Bug Sequoia Fix

Hi, since I upgraded my Mac to Sequoia, my screen time is displaying inaccurately. I just opened my Mac to do some work, and within minutes, it shows over 20 hours of screen time, but I haven’t used it for that long, isn’t that freaky? Do you have the same problem? Does anyone know what’s going on? How do I fix the screen time bug?

Screen Time bug is a common problem after upgrading to macOS Sequoia. I submit that this is a bug because newly released operating systems sometimes have bugs, and I’ve had issues with the macOS Sequoia Spotlight bug. You can check if an update is available for your Mac, as Apple may have already released a patch to fix the issue, and an update might fix your problem.

Screen Time is a built-in feature that tells you how much time you spend on your device, but sometimes temporary glitches may appear. You can restart your Mac to see if it is fixed by clicking on the Apple menu and selecting Restart.

Screen Time bug that occurred on macOS Sequoia may caused by device synchronization problem. You can check if you use the same Apple ID on multiple devices, which may cause data synchronization errors . Then check your device Settings to make sure the time and date Settings are correct for all your devices.
If you have multiple apps open at the same time, the activity of background apps may be incorrectly recorded. So when you use a particular app, try to close other unnecessary apps to reduce false statistics.

This may happen because some of your apps don’t have the permissions they need to record usage time. Therefore, you can check and adjust the privacy permissions of relevant apps in System Settings to ensure record usage time. If you find a serious problem with an app, you can fix it by removing and reinstalling it.

I think the improper Screen Time settings can also cause the Screen Time bug on Sequoia, as I have experienced this problem. So I suggest you reset your screen time Settings to give it a try. Turn off Screen Time in System Settings and wait a few minutes before re-enabling it. Then check the Screen Time limit to see if any limits are set that might affect your statistics.
