How did you delete your saved file? Have you just moved it to Trash, pressed down the Shift + Command + Delete keys together, or emptied Trash to permanently remove the file from your Mac?

If you just move it to Trash, you can go to Trash to put it back. If you permanently delete the file, it will be a little bit complex to recover the deleted saved file on your Mac.

I have to tell you the truth that, once you permanently delete a file from your Mac, the TRIM feature of the internal drive - SSD will immediately make the disk label the block that the deleted file used to store be available. Then, this block will soon be occupied by new data.

So, if you've set Time Machine to back up your Mac automatically or sync your Mac to iCloud Drive, the file recovery job will become easy. If not, stop using your Mac right now except to download a data recovery tool like iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac. This tool can give you a chance to recover the permanently deleted file on your Mac as long as it hasn't been overwritten by other data.

  1. Download, install, and open iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac on your Mac.
  2. Select the startup disk (Macintosh HD) and then click Search for Lost Data.
  3. Wait for the scanning process to end and find your accidentally deleted file by type.
  4. Preview the file and click Recover to save it to a different destination.
