How to regain the space of deleted Bootcamp partition on Mac

I used the BC assistance to select "Restore" and erased the Windows 10 Bootcamp partition. Somehow, an error appears, and I now have 150 GB of free space that cannot be deleted or added to my macOS partition. I also tried running the command "diskutil apfs resizeContainer disk1 0g" after doing some Google searching, but it still doesn't work and returns the following error: Storage system verify or repair failed. Any suggestions?

The correct way to delete the BootCamp partition is by using BootCamp Assistant. After choosing Restore/Restore disc to a single macOS partition, you should have a single Mac disk.

If you find the free disk space of the deleted BootCamp partition can't be removed and allocated to your macOS partition after you remove Windows from Mac, you should then back up your macOS partition now, reformat the Mac hard drive, reinstall macos, and restore your files to it.
