Can I create and open new files with the Finder context menu?

The context menu options to "open a command prompt here" and "create a text file here" are something I miss a little bit from my Windows Explorer setup. in particular the first one. Using the Finder context menu, I would like to be able to rapidly create an empty text file in a folder (maybe with a creative name like "untitled.txt"), and have that file open in a text editor of my choosing right away. I would like to avoid having to browse a potentially deep folder hierarchy more than is strictly necessary because I frequently produce little readme text files. Is there a plugin that offers this kind of capability, or is it readily createable?

The Finder's context menu enables you to quickly create a new folder on Mac, but there is no new file option.
