Any way to recover files from a hard drive that won't mount?

I recently had a Seagate portable drive stop working. I was in the middle of editing a video and all of a sudden it showed disconnected. When I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, it was no longer showing up. When I went to Disk Utility I could see the drive but it was listed as unmounted. When I tried mounting it, it failed. I also tried running first aid which failed. I have all my video files backed up on the unmountable drive, so I need to recover data from it. I ran a free scan with iBoysoft Data Recovery. After nearly 24 hours of scanning, it *looks* like all the files are there. But I want to know more about the software before paying for it. Now I'm seeing comments that it could potentially damage a compromised drive and get really scared.

Yes, it's 100% safe to recover data from an unmountable drive using iBoysoft Data Recovery.

iBoysoft Data Recovery software is a legit product that's capable of recovering lost data from various scenarios, including unmountable external hard drives, USB flash drives, SD cards, etc. You can check its product page (iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac) to view the data loss scenarios it can handle and what subscribed users say about it.

Besides, iBoysoft Data Recovery won't cause any damage to your unmountable drive, as it's read-only, which means it won't write data to your drive or keep you data for other purposes.

But there's one thing you may need to pay attention when performing data recovery. If your drive is physically damaged, it's not recommended to use data recovery software of any kind, as it may risk further damage.
