Try to reinstall macOS Catalina and AppleAPFSMedia became uninitialized

Hey, In an attempt to reinstall and initialize macOS Catalina on my MacBook for sale, I made a mistake throughout the process, and as a result, it appears that the “AppleAPFSMedia” disk is not initialized. Currently, three disks are visible: “AppleAPFSMedia”, Macintosh HD (found beneath the preceding one), and Apple SSD AP0256J Media (three photographs attached). Without success, I’ve made multiple attempts to restore or initialize the “AppleAPFSMedia”. Could someone help me? Many thanks

Have you already tried to erase the AppleAPFSMedia in Disk Utility in macOS Recovery Mode? You can initialize the disk in this way. If you can’t initialize the AppleAPFSMedia, you can also try Terminal with the following steps:

  1. Open the Terminal app (Finder > Applications > Utilities). Then, type diskutil list command and hit Return
  2. Note your drive’s IDENTIFIER. Then, type the following command and press Return: diskutil eraseDisk JHFS+ MyDrive disk4. (Replace JHFS+ with your desired file system, MyDrive with whatever you want to label your drive, and disk4 with your own drive’s IDENTIFIER.)

When a drive cannot be initialized, it could be infected, corrupted, or logically damaged. It could occur to both the internal and external hard drive on Mac. When this unwelcome issue happens, you can try these solutions such as removing peripheral devices from Mac, First Aid the drive in Disk Utility, and reformat the disk via Disk Utility and Terminal. If all these solutions fails, the drive could be seriously damaged, you could consider a replacement.
