Is there a quick files copy hack for Mac users?

Hey folks,

I’m a regular user on a Mac, and I’m wondering if there’s a quick way to copy files to a specific folder. I often find myself dragging and dropping, but it feels a bit slow, especially when I have to navigate through multiple directories.

Is there a shortcut or a terminal command that can speed this up? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Totally feel you on the dragging fatigue!

Try Command + C to copy the file, then Command + Option + V in the destination folder—it pastes and deletes the original (careful!). Using Automator to create a quick shortcut for pure copying, but sometimes it can’t work well.

Hey there! If you’re comfortable with Terminal, try the cp command!
Just type cp /path/to/source/file /path/to/destination/ and boom—done.

:star2:Pro tip: Drag & drop the folder into Terminal to auto-fill its path. No more endless clicking!

How about using a dedicated Mac right-click tool iBoysoft MagicMenu?

It sets up the Copy to function in your right-click context menu, allowing you to copy files directly to some commonly-seen folder, not busy with different shortcuts~

Just right-click the file/folder, then choose Copy to > The folder you need. Of course, you can add the folder/path you want as well.

Works like magic!
