HP S700 SSD not Detected, How Can I Get Back Data?

Hi everyone, a friend of mine has an iMac with an HP S700 SSD.
My iMac won’t power on, so I removed the SSD to try to recover the data.
The problem is, my MacBook doesn’t detect the drive at all.
How can i retrieve data from the SSD?

Have you tried a USB-to-SATA adapter or enclosure? Sometimes Macs won’t see certain SSDs unless you connect them through a proper adapter. If it’s just plugged directly, that could be why it’s not showing up.

And I’d recommend plugging it into a Windows PC first to see if it shows up there. If it does, copy the files out. If not, you may need recovery software.

Could be a file system issue. If the SSD was formatted in NTFS, macOS will only read it, not write. But if macOS can’t see it at all, try a tool like iBoysoft NTFS for Mac. It can write your data directly.

Worst case, the SSD controller is dead. If the drive doesn’t show on any computer, you’ll need to look into professional data recovery like iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac, which can rescue data effectively.
