On previous macOS, you would go to Launchpad, hold the Option key and click x to uninstall apps downloaded from the App Store. The new Apps menu on macOS Tahoe doesn’t allow me to enter this jiggle mode. So how do I properly uninstall App Store apps?
I could use a third-party uninstaller, but wondered if there’s an official way.
You can uninstall the app from Finder. Go to the Applications folder, right-click on the app, and move it to the Trash.
Note that deleting an app from Finder or launchpad doesn’t fully uninstall it. The following files may remain after the app is deleted:
~/Library/Application Support/
~/Library/Caches/
~/Library/Preferences/
~/Library/Logs/
~/Library/Saved Application State/
To delete the leftovers, open Finder > Go to Folder and search for the directories one by one. Then delete files that have the app name in it.
