I uninstalled an app on my MacBook Air, thinking it’s now completely off my Mac. However, after reinstalling it, it restored my previous data. Is there any way to clear all data generated by this app when uninstalling it?
Just moving the app to the Trash and then emptying the Trash only cleans the program file. Other files generated by this app are still on your disk.
If you want to fully uninstall an app on Mac, consider an app cleaner like iBoysoft Cleaner.
If you don’t want to use third-party uninstallers, you can manually delete every file related to the app.
Press Command-Shift-G to open the GO to Folder box and then check the following paths:
- ~/Library/Application Support/AppName
- ~/Library/Caches/AppName
- ~/Library/Preferences/com.developer.AppName.plist
- ~/Library/Saved Application State/com.developer.AppName.savedState
- ~/Library/Logs/AppName
