I’ve used BitLocker to encrypt my USB drive at work, but now I need to copy files from the USB drive to my MacBook Air. I learned that I would need to use third-party software to access Bitlocker’s encrypted USB drive on my MacBook Air, but I prefer to try the free ways to enable me to open, read, and copy files from the USB to my Mac machine. Is there a free way? If not, can you recommend the best software to access Bitlocker encrypted drives on Mac?
If you want to open a Bitlocker encrypted USB drive on your Mac, you’ll have to use third-party software, as there is currently no built-in support for unlocking BitLocker encrypted volumes directly in macOS. I find iBoysoft BitLocker for Mac very useful and it helps me access the data on the BitLocker encrypted disk on my Mac.
Follow the detailed tutorial below to unlock the BitLocker encrypted drive on your MacBook Air:
Step1: Download iBoysoft Bitlocker for Mac and install iBoysoft BitLocker for Mac.
Step2: Enable system extensions and launch iBoysoft BitLocker for Mac.
Step3: Insert the encrypted USB drive on your mac.
Step4: Click the “Open” icon, and then choose the “Volume mounter”.
Step5: Enter the password and you can open the file.
I was previously troubled by how to open encrypted volumes on a Mac. After doing some research, I eventually chose iBoysoft BitLocker for Mac, and I have to say this software is excellent.
