How to completely remove an app?

I want to completely uninstall an application on my iMac. I visited Apple’s page, and it tells me I only need to delete the icon from the Applications folder. However, I am thinking about how to properly uninstall an application and make sure no related files are left behind. Is simply deleting the application from the Applications folder enough?

Simply deleting an application from the Applications folder does not completely uninstall it, as some apps leave behind configuration files, cache files, or other support files in other parts of the system. To uninstall an app completely, you need to first drag the app into the Trash and empty the Trash. Then manually find and delete the relevant support files and configuration files, common folders include:

~/Library/Application Support/

~/Library/Caches/

~/Library/Preferences/

~/Library/Logs/

Manually searching for and deleting these files can be quite complicated. I’ve done it before, and it’s very tiring. Later, I started using CleanMyApp, which is very easy to use. You only need to open CleanMyApp, locate the application you want to remove on the main page, select the related files, and click Uninstall to completely uninstall the application.
