Extremely slow external SSD read and write speed after Ventura update

Can anyone help me out? Ever since I upgraded my MacBook Pro 16 M1 Max to macOS Ventura, all of my external SSDs have slowed down drastically, from around 800–900MB/s to just 5–30MB/s. Time Machine backups are also failing, and it’s seriously impacting my work. Is there any fix for this?

Some versions of macOS Ventura have compatibility issues that may affect SSD transfer speeds, especially for devices connected via USB 3.1/3.2 or Thunderbolt. Therefore, you can try to downgrade macOS Ventura to Monterey.

Lack of SSD storage space or the presence of a large number of temporary junk files could also be a reason for slow read/write speeds. However, it usually doesn’t cause such a significant drop in speed, but it does affect performance.

I previously used iBoysoft DiskGeeker for Mac to manage my disk space.
