My Mac runs slowly. I run Disk Utility to check the Macintosh Data volume but get the error below:
error: found file extend (id 818998) with zero crypto_id on encrypted volume.
fsroot tree is invalid
The volume /dev/rdisk1s1 could not be verified completely.
The system check exit code is 0.
I also boot my Mac in Recovery Mode and run Disk Utility First Aid but get the same result, what’s the matter?
“The system check exit code is 0.” indicates that the operation is completed successfully without detecting any errors. Simply speaking, your Mac is regarded as healthy by First Aid.
First Aid is used to check volume and hard drive errors. Disk errors are not the troublemakers to make your Mac run slowly. A sluggish Mac is usually caused by running too many programs at a time or limited free storage space.
You can release space on your Macintosh HD. To clean up your Mac, you should uninstall unwanted apps, empty trash, delete useless files, etc. I have to tell you the truth that moving apps to the Trash usually won’t completely uninstall them from your Mac. Their leftovers are still on your Mac and drain your space.
You can use a professional app uninstaller like CleanMyApp. This freeware will list all third-party apps on your Mac along with their associated files. You just need to choose the apps you want to uninstall and click the Uninstall button to remove them and everything about them from your Mac.
