Can I Run Windows Software on Mac?

I recently got a new MacBook because my Windows laptop is damaged and currently being repaired.
For work, I need to use a specific software that only runs on Windows. I’ve asked some friends about this but none of them worked.
I’m hoping for a positive solution.

Hey there!

Congrats on your new MacBook Pro! Sorry to hear about your Windows laptop.
Maybe you can run Windows on your Mac using either virtualization or dual booting.

  1. Use software like Parallels Desktop, VMware Fusion, or VirtualBox to create a virtual Windows environment on your Mac.
  2. If your MacBook Pro has an Intel processor, you can use Boot Camp Assistant (built into macOS) to install Windows.

If your software is compatible with Windows, it should work fine on a virtual machine or Boot Camp. Just make sure you have a valid Windows license handy.
Also, if your Mac has an M1/M2 chip, note that Boot Camp isn’t supported, so you’ll have to use a VM (Parallels works well for these Macs).

Good luck, and read more about 5 Ways to Run Windows Programs on Mac

Besides virtual machines and Boot Camp Assistant, you can try Wine, CrossOver Mac, and Remote Desktop.
