Can I Only Run Windows with wiping macOS on MacBook (No Virtuzlization Tool)?

Hello, due to a shortage of Windows PCs, we want to repurpose our unused 2020 Intel MacBook Pros by installing Windows on them (completely replacing macOS). We don’t want to use virtualization tools like Parallels or VMware.
The tool called “Bootcamp ISO Converter” didn’t help. We also tried disabling Secure Boot and enabling External Boot, but Mac still didn’t recognize the Windows USB installer.

Can we fully wipe macOS and only install Windows on Mac?

Yes, it is possible to fully remove macOS and install only Windows on Intel-based MacBook Pros (not M1 or M2 models)—but it’s tricky.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Create a bootable Windows USB installer using Microsoft’s Media Creation Tool on a Windows PC.
  2. Format the USB as GPT with FAT32 (you may need to split the Windows ISO if it’s too big for FAT32).
  3. Boot the Mac into Startup Manager by holding Option (⌥) during startup and select the USB drive.
  4. Use the Windows installer to delete all macOS partitions and install Windows.

After installation, install Boot Camp drivers (download these beforehand using Boot Camp Assistant or from Apple’s support site) for proper hardware functionality.

And remember to backup all data before wiping.
