Why Can't I Open The BitLocker Drive On My MacBook Pro?

My MacBook Pro says the disk you inserted was not readable by this computer. It is a Bitlocker protected portable drive. What should I do in order to open this Bitlocker encrypted drive on my Mac Catalina?

Hello, Microsoft Windows does not offer any support for Mac to use a BitLocker encrypted drive. So third-party software to open the BitLocker hard drive on Mac is a must here. I'd like to share the one that I use on my MacBook Air, that is, iBoysoft BitLocker for Mac.

With iBoysoft BitLocker for Mac, you can open BitLocker USB drive on Mac then:

  • Full read-write access to BitLocker-encrypted HDD, SSD, USB flash drive, SD card, etc.
  • Encrypt drives with the BitLocker Encryption method.
  • Read and write BitLocker encrypted NTFS, exFAT, and FAT32 drives.
  • macOS Ventura, Monterey and M2, M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max supported.
