Can I recover deleted audio and video without Time Machine?

I lost my whole collection of 489 GB of audio and video files from macOS High Sierra by accident a few days ago, and I don't have a Time Machine backup. Is there a way to have my deleted audio and video files come back?

The Mac Trash is where you should check first when you want to recover accidentally deleted items on Mac. Besides, Do you have any other backups such as cloud storage and external storage media? Even if these two ways don't work, you can still try third-party data recovery for Mac software.

If you find the deleted items in Mac Trash, you just right-click the desired item and click Put Back, it will go back to its original locations on your Mac. If the Mac Trash is emptied, but you have backed up the audio and videos to the cloud storage and external hard drive, you can still recover them with ease.

Otherwise, you can consider third-party data recovery software such as iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac, it can scan the Mac drive for deleted and lost data, and as long as the deleted audio and videos haven't been overwritten, you can recover them back with professional data recovery software.
