Can't restore from Time Machine to a new SSD on Mac

The old internal hard drive of my MBP 13' has died, so I bought a new SSD from SanDisk. When I booted into Recovery Mode, the new SSD was unmounted and I had to reformat it several times to make it mountable. After it was mounted, I selected it as the destination for restoring data from a Time Machine backup but the process failed with an error message saying "There is a problem occurred. Restart to try again." I tried to repair it with Disk Utility but it also failed.

You might want to return the SSD and try a different drive.

There are a few possibilities why the SSD was unmounted in the beginning, and restoring data to it from Time Machine ends with the error "There is a problem occurred. Restart to try again."

For example, the internal hard drive cable may be defective, the external drive's enclosure may be incompatible with the SSD, or the SSD may be defective.

The best course of action is to take your Mac and the SSD to a local store and try another drive.
