My Mac can’t read SanDisk Extreme PRO SD cards, and they only show in Disk Utility but don’t show on the Mac desktop.
Any advice?

After checking if the SD card is connected to your Mac correctly, you can modify Finder settings: Finder > Settings > General > Tick External disks.
If they still fail, please recover your data as soon as possible. iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac is a good choice.
Free download and open it, choose your SD card then click Search for Lost Data. After scanning, select the wanted files and click Recover at the bottom.
Maybe you could run First Aid to repair your SD card(you said it shows in Disk Utility).
Then consider reformatting the SD card, remember to do a backup before erasing.
