My Mac Book Pro displays an error message stating that “the disk you inserted was not readable by this computer” when I try to insert my SD card after updating to Safari 10.0.2. Before the update, the SD card operated without issue. Some of my cards experienced this, but not all of them did.
The Safari updates shouldn’t affect the SD cards. SD cards are typically more prone to corruption than other storage devices because of their portability, small size, and frequent use in various devices, which might expose them to situations that could cause damage or corruption.
If you find the SD card is not readable on Mac, you can try the following solutions:
- Verify the SD card reader
- Check if the SD card is locked
- Change another USB port
- Disconnect the SD card and restart your Mac computer
- Check the SD card format
- Rename the SD card
- Manually mount the SD card in Disk Utility
- Repair the SD card with Disk Utility
- Initialize or format the SD card
If you find any data loss on the SD card, recover them with iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac!
