A couple of days ago, my MacBook automatically updated its operating system, as it usually does. After the update, one very important folder completely disappeared from both my MacBook and iCloud Drive.
Interestingly, when I opened my iPad a few days later, I found that the folder was still there. However, as the Files app on my iPad started syncing with iCloud, the files inside that folder began disappearing one by one. Now, only four files remain in the folder, and they are visible only on my iPad — they no longer appear anywhere else.
Apple support employees just gave me the corporate ‘understanding/empathetic/sympathetic’ response and told me there is nothing else they can do for me.
If anyone has any suggestions to restore my loss data? Thanks in advance!
Did you hear of a 3-2-1 backup strategy? You need to make 3 backups of your important file data, at least 2 copies with different ways (like Time Machine auto backup and external hard drive backup) and 1 copy kept offsite (you usually use file data in workplace, so you should keep one copy at home or your family member house).
Using Time Machine or the 3rd party backup software is the second step. The top priority is to recover your lost data now. Professional data recovery software like iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac can render help.
Stop writing now. No any further move, like disk repair or reformatting. Just apply this software to deep scan lost data from your specific folders, volumes, partitions or the whole disk. After it finishes the scanning, you can find your lost data and 1 click to recover them.
