MacBook Pro Storage is Always Full Even If Free Up to 20 GB

Only after 10-20 minutes, my MacBook Pro is full down to 200MB. Why? I don’t even do anything on the computer. I cleaned 20GB of files on it but after about 10 min, the machine repeatedly said the disk was full. I don’t add any files to fill the storage. It’s very upsetting that I have to always clean files but always get disk full alerts. Can anyone tell me the reasons and how to avoid the disk full message continuously showing up?

You probably just move 20 GB files to the Trash bin. Files in the Trash bin also take up your disk storage. You need to empty the Trash to release the storage space on your Mac.

20 GB is just the tip of the iceberg. Even if you’ve freed up 20 GB of space, your Mac will quickly consume the 20 GB available space. Every Mac has accumulated a lot of junk files, including app caches, user logs, duplicate files, files no longer in use, outdated downloads, etc. The longer time you use your Mac, the more junk files it will have.

So, I think that cleaning up your Mac in routine is necessary. You can check your folders and find out and delete those unnecessary files. Um, it is true, a great job for manually cleaning your Mac. Of course, if you think that’s time-consuming, using a professional Mac cleaning tool is a nice choice.

For me, I’d like to use iBoysoft DiskGeeker. This Mac disk management tool has a powerful Mac junk file feature. Simply download, install, and open it. Select the Macintosh HD - Data or macOS - Data volume (your user data volume) and click Clean Junk, this tool will scan all junk files on your Mac and list them by categories. Then, you can choose those you want to delete and click Clean.
