I have a client who uses a older Mac that runs 9.2.2 for their publishing press. The rip software won’t run on anything but version 9. I normally work on PC, so I wanted to get some advice here since the OS is so old that I am not getting anywhere in finding info on software for cloning this OS to another hard drive. I have checked a few software versions like carbon copy but I wasn’t finding any older versions that actually ran on 9. Anyone have any links or software that I can install on OS 9 that will clone its hard drive. It doesn’t matter if its commercial or freeware, they are willing to purchase the software I just need to find a package that does it. Thanks Sean
You can copy the OS via a Finder drag-and-drop process and retain its functionality afterward. Drag the source drive’s icon on the desktop to the destination drive, open the folder on the destination drive, and move the folders to the top level of that drive. Alternatively, open the source drive’s icon and drag everything inside to the destination drive.
While if you want to copy the operating system as a backup instead of an alternative boot option, you can give iBoysoft DiskGeeker for Mac a try, which clones the source hard drive to the target drive stably and quickly.
