I’m currently using Carbon Copy cloned, but out of 250 GB it’s only moving 212 GB. What could the other 38 GB be, and how do I clone the entire machine, including os? I’ve tried Super Duper but the free edition malfunctioned and didn’t copy at all. I’m looking for a clone that will let me clone the whole thing, and is it possible for any cloner to be cloned and then access any individual file you want from the clone without booting it up? That’s what I’m hoping to do so I can analyze what went wrong with it after doing a fresh wipe and install. Thanks for any input!
If you want to clone the Mac hard drive as a file destination for further accessing, you can give iBoysoft DiskGeeker for Mac a chance.
Step 1: Connect the disks you need to use to your Mac and launch iBoysoft DiskGeeker.
Step 2: Select the source disk (the entire disk you want to back up files from) at the left sidebar of the iBoysoft DiskGeeker window.
Step 3: Click “Clone” from the right toolbar.
Step 4: Choose a destination drive from the pop-up list and click startClone. A prompt will warn you that making a backup of the destination disk because cloning the disk will overwrite all data on it. If you click OK, the clone starts.
The cloning process can’t be terminated once it begins. If the process is terminated accidentally, the disk cloning will resume automatically when the two disks are connected to your Mac again.
