After upgrading to macOS Sonoma, my Mac no longer displays the Sound icon in the menu bar. Previously, I could pin the Sound settings by going to System Settings > Sound and enabling “Show Sound in Menu Bar.” But this option is gone now. How can I show the Sound icon in the menu bar now?
The option “Show Sound in menu bar” has been moved to the Control Center. Here’s how to show Sound in the menu bar on Mac:
If running macOS Ventura or later:
- Open the Apple menu > System Settings.
- Select Control Center.
- Locate the module Sound.
- Choose “Always Show in Menu Bar.”
If running macOS Monterey or earlier:
- Open the Apple menu > System Preferences.
- Click Sound.
- Select the “Show Sound in menu bar” checkbox.
- Click the pop-up menu and choose to show Sound in the menu bar all the time.
Hope that helps! Cheers!
