I accidentally deleted some files from my SanDisk 128GB Extreme Pro SD card on my MacBook Air M2 running macOS Sonoma. I’m a complete newbie to Mac computer. Could anyone walk me through the process of ways to recover deleted files from an SD card or recommend any user-friendly data recovery software?
Usually, your deleted files will be put into the Trash. It is on the Dock on your Mac (the bottom right corner of your screen). If you press Command + Shift + Delete to delete those files on your SD card, they are directly removed from your Mac without being put into your Mac.
So, if you can’t find your deleted files on your Mac Trash, you need a data recovery tool to help you recover them. I only used iBoysoft Data Recovery software before. It helps me restore the lost files from my external SSD. I know that this application also supports recovering data from an SD card on your Mac.
Just Download iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac, install, and open it on your Mac, choose your SD card, click Search for Lost Data, wait for the scanning results, preview your deleted files, and click Recover to restore them.
Suggest you back up your Mac with Time Machine since you’re new to Mac, you can also create a copy of files on your external drives and SD cards. A newbie of Mac probably causes data loss due to some mistaken operations.
