How to create a log.txt file of filenames on Mac?

I need to be able to create a log.txt file on the desktop to show what filenames have been created each day.

Any tips on where to post this OR look for guidance on this task will be appreciated.

You can complete this mission with the help of Automator like this:


You can set it to run daily in Calendar. Or, you could just create a workflow or application that you run manually.

I added a Rename Action so that it would tag the file with the date.

You can set the criteria for the Find to what you need to log.
