Help! Recoverit is taking up so much space! How do I completely uninstall it?

Recoverit is taking up a huge amount of storage on my Mac, launching at startup, and constantly running in the background, slowing down my system! Now I want to completely uninstall it and make sure no leftover files remain. How can I do that?

The easiest way to uninstall Recoverit is by using a professional uninstaller, like CleanMyApp. I’ve been using this tool to remove unnecessary software, and it takes up very little system space while making the whole uninstallation process straightforward.

With it, you don’t have to manually delete configuration files because it will remove all residual files. Here’s how to use it:

  1. Download, install, and open CleanMyApp on your Mac.
  2. Find and select Recoverit in the main interface of CleanMyApp.
  3. Click Uninstall > Continue Uninstall.
  4. You’ll be prompted to enter your admin password to remove Recoverit from your Mac.

Are you familiar with Terminal? You can try using the command sudo rm -rf /Applications/Recoverit.app to delete Recoverit. After deleting the app, you will also need to enter the following commands to remove the related configuration files:

  • sudo rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Recoverit
  • sudo rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/com.wondershare.recoverit.plist
  • sudo rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/com.wondershare.recoverit
  • sudo rm -rf ~/Library/Logs/Recoverit.log
