Help! Photos 7.0 is missing "Library" icon in sidebar

Hi,guys, my Library icon in Photos has disappeared. Can anyone help me? My system is Monterey, and when I opened Photos today, I suddenly found that the left sidebar had no Library icon, just Memories, People, Places, Recents, Imports, and Recently Deleted. Does anyone know what’s going on? Is there a way to fix this?

Have you tried updating macOS? If you haven’t updated to the latest version, you might want to do that first and see if the Library icon appears. Another possibility is that when you’re using different libraries in Photos, the “Library” icon may disappear. This could be because the currently opened library’s settings or content do not support the “Library” view.

You can use Open Core Legacy Patcher to resolve this issue.

  1. Go to the Open Core Legacy Patcher website to download the latest version of the Open Core Legacy Patcher zip file. Then unzip the downloaded file and drag Open Core Legacy Patcher to your Applications folder.
  2. Open Open Core Legacy Patcher. Before making any changes, it’s recommended to back up your data and important files to prevent data loss.
  3. Once you open Open Core Legacy Patcher, select the macOS version you are currently running.
  4. Follow the instructions to select the Post Install Root Patch, then run the patch to ensure all necessary fixes and updates are applied.
  5. After completing the patch, restart your Mac. Now open your Photos app, and the Library icon should be here.
